These appear to be stronger and better quality than the originals in the shutters the home developer installed. Because the two wide sides must be spread quite a way apart in order to remove the old parts or install the new parts I discovered that the old parts were brittle and broke (the reason the old ones needed to be replaced - the small split pin broke off). One could argue that they became brittle with age but these shutters are only 4 years old and I don't consider that to be old enough for the plastic parts to start breaking from old age. The new parts were flexible, strong and fit perfectly. FYI, on my broken parts I found it easier to cut the broken end of the pin off with a knife and use a punch (a nail with the point ground off should work) to push the broken pin further into the shutter blade than to pull the broken piece out of the blade. Once I got that pin pushed in enough to make clearance for the new one, the new parts installed without any problems.
